Sydney Borg, thank you for being the kind, caring, and incredible person you are. Watching you grow into the young woman you have become has been one of the greatest joys of my life. I feel so lucky to have you as my cousin, and I hope this page always reminds you of how proud I am of you and how deeply you're loved. I love you so incredibly much! ♥️
It’s hard to believe that you’re graduating high school already. It feels like just yesterday you were a little girl singing "Let It Go" with me in my kitchen before school every morning. Back then, they were just ordinary mornings, but looking back, they became memories that I will treasure forever. No matter how much time passes, those moments will always hold a special place in my heart.
What makes those memories even more special is that years later, at my graduation party, I ended up dragging you over to the karaoke setup and we sang “Let It Go” together all over again. For a few minutes, it felt like we were right back in my kitchen before school. It’s a memory that always makes me smile and reminds me just how quickly time passes.
But what I appreciate most isn’t just the memories we’ve made. It’s the way you’ve been there for me when I needed someone most. During one of the hardest periods of my life, when it felt like my world was falling apart, you stepped into the spotlight and made it feel like I mattered. Your kindness, support, and willingness to simply be present left a lasting impact on me, and it is something I will never forget. You saved me, and you’ll always be my hero for that.
Some of my favorite memories were when we would stay out late (sometimes past midnight) and just drive wherever the wind took us. We would spend hours talking about whatever was on our minds, laughing together, and simply enjoying each other’s company. At the time, they felt like ordinary nights, but looking back, they became some of the memories I’ll always cherish.
And then you got your driver’s license. I still smile when I think about all the time we spent driving together while you were learning. Being able to be a small part of that milestone meant more to me than you probably realize. It was one of those moments that made me stop and realize that the little girl who used to sing Frozen songs with me in my kitchen before school was growing up.
Like any family, we’ve had our ups and downs over the years. But through it all, you’ve had a bigger impact on my life than you’ll probably ever realize. I honestly wouldn’t be the person I am today without you, and I’ll always be grateful for everything you’ve done for me. So in my eyes, you can always find yourself standin’ in my Hall of Fame.
I wish you could see yourself the way I do, because if you did, you would understand just how extraordinary you are. You have brought so much joy, laughter, and happiness into my life over the years, and I don’t think you’ll ever fully realize how much you mean to me.
I wanted to create something for you that you could always look back on, no matter how many years pass. A place filled with memories, accomplishments, and little reminders of how much you’ve meant to the people who love you. If there ever comes a day when you doubt yourself, feel alone, or forget how incredible you are, I hope you’ll come back here and remember that you’ll always be loved more than you know.
As I am writing this, sitting three feet in front of you while subbing your class, I can’t help but think about everything that brought us to this moment. It's hard to believe how quickly the years have gone by.
Today, as you graduate high school, I couldn’t be more proud of you. Not just because of this accomplishment, but because of the person you’ve become. I have watched you grow from just a little kid into a strong, kind, caring, and extraordinary young woman. And it has truly been an honor to witness your journey.
As you begin this next chapter of your life, I hope you continue to chase your dreams, embrace new opportunities, and believe in yourself every step of the way. Even though there may be moments of uncertainty, I hope you never forget all your accomplishments and how much you have to offer the world.
No matter where life takes you, I hope you'll always remember that you are loved by so many people. And we are all proud of the person you have become.
I love you, Sydney.
Your Cousin,
Matthew Kasternakis ♥️
